odometer reading gone haywire

Featured Replies

HI,

I have a Y reg 2000 octy whiclt has recently been in for some minor body owrk, as part of this they also fixed the locks on teh rear doors as they had dealocked.

Apparantly they did not plug into vag com or anything to rest the doors, i only mention this because...

when it went it it had a milegae reading of about 128K, when i got it back the milage reads 651533!

the mileage on this odometer reading has not changed over the last 2K miles in the car, and the trip odometer works fine.

What is wrong!?? any thoughts? have they plugged in and spiked the brain, is this an easy to fix thing? (albeit at a specialist with a vag com)

Cheers

Andy

Perhaps they gave it a really good road test .

Years ago i had a delta turbo that went mental , turned out it was moisture in the clocks , went from 20k to about 970000 in a day
