vRS TSI - signed, sealed and (to be) delivered (next year)

Featured Replies

After a lot of thought, number crunching, info and advice from this forum, and a 3 hour visit haggling at the dealership, I've ordered a vRS Octavia TSI.

I originally started off looking for a second hand TDi, but due to reasons discussed in my other posts I've ended up going for the petrol. The fact that I've been able to go to a new one too, is a big thumbs up to the current Skoda deals and the input from my other thread about how much room negotiation there is on top of the VAT deal.

So today I ordered one, for March delivery so that I get the new number plate:

Race Blue

Leather Seats

Maxi-dot

Spare wheel

Very pleased, can't wait. I'll have a month in a loan car as part of the deal was for my p/x to go in in Feb - just hoping it won't be in a Fabia as I'm really not keen on them!

Nice one, sounds like a good result. And you chose leather over xenons... interesting :D

Steve

Result!

Now sit back and join the band of brothers itching to get our mits on them

@Wardy - haha, yep went for leather! I know I won't regret it, even if I would really like the Xenons too!

@pg220 - yep, can't wait! Delivery was expected to be mid Feb, maybe later due to xmas/computer system changeover/options added, so pushed for a March delivery. Even though it's a longer wait (bad times!), I'd rather wait for the new reg (good times!)

Yeah, fair play - it's a tricky decision and they're both really nice to have, but can understand why you went for leather. Is it heated as std these days?

And I'm right with you on waiting that little bit longer for the new plate - a '10' - how weird will that look

I don't think it's heated as standard, but tbh I didn't ask, I just assumed it wasn't as it doesn't say anywhere. Unless anyone knows any different?

Yeah a 10 plate will look very odd!

:thumbup:good choice! but far to common a colour:D

No they are not heated as std

Safety in numbers :D

Great job

Now you just gotta wait 3 months... it's gonna be agony :D

Much time left for ordering the Xenons on top.:D

So with 3 hours of eye to eye negotiations, how much did you pay for the new car?

Not as odd as a '60' will be come September.

Yep, what an excellent registration system we've adopted

Yeah, like pound, shilling, bob, florin, half-crown, pence :D

Well I didn't get down to the DtD level which was a further 6.5% off the price after the VAT offer, but got down to 4% which I'm pleased with and seems to be in the ballpark of what other people have got (from one of my other posts). I do have a p/x too which I managed to fix the price on until I get the new one in March - I just have to take it in 1 month early so they get it before the new plates come out (and hence another drop in p/x price)....but they're giving me a loan car to tie me over in.

I have had my FL TSi hatch 2 months 2500miles....

The full (non heated) leather seats are fantastic fuel economy is good and the TSi engine is a (quick) peach!

Its a fantastic car!

The leather seats do look great. What is your MPG like in those first few months?
