Yeti S spec cars

Featured Replies

Has anyone taken delivery of one of these yet? or have one ordered.

Does it have electric rear windows??? Is it worth spending an extra £20 month for the SE spec.

I'd be interested to see some actual pictures of the S spec car as soon as possible. I think i prefer the 16" alloys to the 17" alloys on the SE spec.

Ours is/was due to be built this week. Have just spoken to the dealer and, as noted elsewhere, the Skoda order tracking system is being changed so is currently off line. Apparently we should know more this Friday. Looking at delivery either just before or just after Christmas.

according to the brochure it should have electric rear windows.

I haven't seen an 'S' yet.

But yes, it does have electric rear windows.

For myself what you get extra on the SE would seem good value for £20 extra per month.

17” ‘Dolomite’ alloys (7Jx17’’ 225/50 R17 94W)

4-spoke multi-functional leather steering

wheel for radio

Acoustic rear parking sensors

Additional 4 loudspeakers rear

Body coloured door mirrors and door handles

Cruise control

Dual-zone air conditioning

Height adjustable rear head rests (three)

Integrated headlight washers

Jumbo box

Light in boot area

Maxi-dot trip computer

Radio ‘Bolero’ – 2 DIN with integrated

CD changer (6 CD), can play MP3 recordings

Small leather package (steering wheel, gearshift

lever, hand brake grip)

Sunset glass (from B pillar back)

How are you financing it? Because the SE is an extra £1,400 but if it's on PCP the residual values will be greater, or if you want to stick to the monthly figure of an S but fancy an SE just lump on a few extra months on the finance.

£20 a mojnth extra for the SE seems like good value to me too. I'm considering a 2wd CR 110 SE for my next company car. The S would work out at £27 a month cheaper so I may go with that when the time comes to sign on the dotted line but the extras on the SE do seem to be worth the extra £27.

I'm really tempted by the Panoramic roof as well but it depends how much that adds to the monthly cost.

Thanks for your replies.

It is finance through RBS staff 'Fuel and Go' scheme via Lombard - which £0 deposit.

Yeti 1.2 TSI S - £289 per month

Yeti 1.2 TSI SE - £310 per month

Yeti 1.2 TSI Elegance - £341.00 per month

I really wanted the DSG and it is on the list - but it adds £20 per month i'm told you can't even order it anyway???

This may be of interest to those who love the DSG box

Thanks Ray . Just to confirm Skoda are building 1.2 TSI DSGs in Feb Week 5. How long do they take from Factory to UK? 4 weeks?

Mine took exactly 3 weeks from build to reach the dealer, collected 2 days later. Although I was told to expect up to 4-5 weeks.

Note: spent a week waiting for a ship from Emden (Germany) to Grimsby.

Those wheels are reason alone not to purchase an SE. I have no idea why Skoda UK have decided to give no alternative wheel option for this model only - bloody tight. I would happily pay extra for a decent set of wheels.

I'm still undecided £20 is half my insurance costs.

Desperate to see a real life picture of an S model.

You generally get better value from lower spec models in a range imho. It is the same basic car after all. Only buy higher spec. or options that you really need.

It's a good point. The less you spend the less you lose. People think that they retain more value if you get the higher spec models. But, i'm pretty sure that isn't the actual case. It's better to lose 40-50% of £15k than £22k in basic maths terms.

Conversely - the say £3k extra for higher spec only costs £1.5 over 3 years ?

not sure what that mean '£1.5 over 3 years'

all i know is the basic car will drive the same as one loaded with extras. it's how the car companies make their money back off you charging £££s over the odds on stuff that you don't need.

I downgraded then manual SE, to a DSG S spec. As that is one 'extra' that does make a difference to how it will drive.

There are extra's that make life safer. My good lady using park assist has made my no claims bonus feel a lot safer ;)

I feel that the higher specification cars is good value for money. I am not bothered about the bling things but HID xenon lighting is an absolute essential in my book. This also comes with lights that turn in to the corner, with the addition cornering fogs. Driving on bumpy very narrow roads with lots of negative cambers, ditches and steep drops one soon appreciates the best lighting. The 170 only comes with elegance specification. The price difference between the specifications and the various engines configurations does not seem that high to me.
