my boss could give me a few details on track-days as he often takes his merc for a spin, in fact he has mentioned that he & a few friends are going quite soon . i will get some details & post them here so we could make a decision whether to go for it:cool: dave

If we can get somewhere with plenty of run off (eg Bruntingthorpe or another airfield) then I'd be interested. I'd have to look at the brake pads and fluid first though !

BTW anyone know of anyone with any timing gear/device?

Its either that or a trip down to a drag strip for some 1/4 mile times!

howcome alot of vrs owners have had theirs chipped, if the vrs was first made in 2001, then arent you invalidating ur warranty?

Depends on the dealer - if they are 'friendly' - the chip would only invalidate stuff directly relating to the chip -ie engine - not suspension, body, interior etc.

Also I can't speak for others but i've had a few performance cars in the past few years and modding the cars sort of becomes a bit of a bug. And i guess being in IT (like most peeps in the scooby world) we all reckon we can do a bit better than someone elses (ie Skoda's) standard design by 'tweeking'

I think Des has got a performance metre.

Or he did have 'til he accelerated to hard and it shot out of the cubby hole and broke

Even driving easily he gets sub 4 second 0-60

Mine is no better than standard :(

It doesn't stop as well, corners worse, and is slower.
