Bolero and Phone Compatibility

Featured Replies

I took delivery of an Octavia vrs dsg petrol last week and am very happy.

Just this problem with phones and the Bolero with Bluetooth and Maxi-dot.

I have an MWG Zinc 2 phone on vodafone and have managed to install an application that allows rSIM (quite proud bearing in mind I am over 50 and semi-senile). The Skoda finds the phone and I enter the 16 digit code but still get a 'phone incompatible' message.

So, if I decide I need to get a new phone, it would probably be an HTC HD2 on vodafone.

Does anyone know if this is 'out of the box' compatible?

I have searched the forum but cannot find a definitive answer (honest!)

Thanks in advance.

HTC HD2 runs Windows Mobile so it should be ok.

Thanks for your help....:)

......only trouble is, so does my Zinc 2 (run windows mobile) and that, as mentioned, seems to fall at the last hurdle when trying to pair with the skoda.:(

Not all Windows Mobile phones support RSAP property, I currently use a TYTN II and have used a HTC Touch HD and they both worked fine, The Hero also works I believe, I would think the HD2 should be ok as well.

Thank you for the answer.

I have managed to order an HD2 on vodaphone for 7 day 'return if not happy' deal. It will take a few days to arrive but I will post the results as a help to anyone else who later tries to travel the same route.

useful post this one as I've just order the HTC HD2 so please post if it works or not. Though there is a waitin list on these at the moment (new customers atleast) so I will not take collection of mine until the second week of december.

Hi Polocoupe. Bad news - despite promise from Vodafone that HTC HD2 would arrive 30 Nov I am now told it won't be despatched until mid Dec. Since I am not around to receive it until early Jan it appears that you may have the answer before me.If you do can you post?

My HTC HD2 works perfectly out of the box with my Octavia 3 spoke steering wheel. Connects flawlessly, transfers contacts on demand, mutes the radio, and when leaving hte car, it disconnects perfectly.

Having read so many threads in this and other forums, I was concerned, but it is a joy to use.

Hi Fellwalker - thanks for that, it has cheered me up no end.I will keep a look out for you on the fells, being a regular visitor myself and assuming that my memory map software works on the HTC and I don't get lost.

My HTC HD2 arrived today but sadly the bolero has not been able to find it. Can anyone who has succeded (Fellwalker?) offer any suggestions or guidance as to how they acheived it?

I had an issue a couple of times when the Bolero could not see my BlackBerry (8900 Curve), I went into Phone settings on the Bolero & reset it to factory settings a couple of times, it then worked fine.

It may be that you need to disconnect the BT unit (should be located under the drivers seat & re-connect it.)

Hi Graham,

Many thanks for that, a couple of factory resets and 3 attempts later all seems to be working fine.

Thanks again.
