OK so I got my stereo in on Saturday and thought Id attempt my sunroof..... Big mistake!! The seal came off easy enough but how does it go back on!! And I think I broke the roof winder. Think my Favorit respray is on the cards!!! I'm gonna get my roof welded/sealed. At least I the cars sound though.

Is it just the seal that has gone on the roof?

Perhaps you could get a good one from a scrappy yard along with the winder. I think it is very similar to a fiesta of about the same year so may be worth looking into that too if you are struggling to find a decent one off a felly.

The winder is about £40 from the dealer if my memory serves me right. And yes a Mk3 Fiesta has an identical mechanism.

But the seal is not available at my local dealer :( I have my uncle taking the car to have the sunroof permanently sealed over, for about £50. My uncle said he wouldnt bother but she's my car luckily and I dont intend on subjecting her to more water ingestion trials!! Especially when its now icing up on the inside!!! EEEEK Edit Apparantly the sunroof is not Factory fitted cause it doesnt sit flush on the roof so this glass place would not touch it. Yet the damned sunroof has skoda etched in the glass, its gotta be factory fit!!

Which seal has gone on your sunroof sisko? You can seal the outer one with sealant, between the metal trim and the car roof, or if its the internal rubber one, try cleaning it up, although if its falling apart then you might not want to keep it!

The outer one. I took it off to clean it up move it round, but can't get the fecker back on proper!

I have 2 choices ok maybe 3

1 - Get a Firm to or I seal it myself

2- Get a metal piece welded into place (meant I can justify the respray!)

3 - Break this car and get another, but i think this answer is unacceptable.

I'd rather not get rid of my little Favorit.

She turns on a dime

She didnt crash into anything when I dozed off at nr 2am one night and hit a kerb nr Warrington on the M6. The car held course and speed going forwards.

Enough to jolt me awake to get home. Scared me and my bro who was dozing in the passenger seat to death, will not dare do that again, but she shrugged that off no damage to anything.

Someone tried stealing her but they couldn't!

I mean I lost one Skoda last year, I cannot lose another.

Hi captain, what type of sunroof is yours? (I have seen 2 different types of sunroofs on Favorits).

Is it this one?

Sadly I think the only way of getting a good seal between the sunroof and the car is going to be some sort of sealant. Clear is probably best then it won't look so bad if it gets where you don't want it to go.

No its quite similar to the Felicia/general poppy up sunroof just the seal is different to a Felicia seal!!!
