Console Bushes?

Featured Replies

Under acceleration from 70 to 90 plus there is a vibration that stops when the throttle is feathered i.e. steady speed. It's not through the steering wheel but appears to originate from under the car. Could this be worn console bushes or similar? Wheel balance has been checked ok.

It's the MOT soon so I'd like to be ready!

Thanks

Seeing as the highest speed limit in this fair land is 70, I don't see what the issue is? ;) :P

If you can a. find some speed bumps, and b. drive over them on a cold, dry day, the noise ought to tell you if the console bushes have gone. It's hard to tell without being there, but that kind of acceleration in top gear potentially also could be DMF destruction-testing territory...

which wheels/tyres have been checked for correct balance ? just the fronts ?

could be rear tyres out of balance or not round

I had a simular problem. Vibration between these speeds comes from the back wheels not balanced. Get them sorted and it should be ok.
