Has anyone remap ed a 105

What difference does it make and is the fuel consumption betterJust a simple remap not the bells and whistles one

I thought the 105, was very limited with regards to remapping, dont quote me tho lol.

give shark_90 a shout mate. he'll know if it can be mapped. plus they have the deal on at the moment as well if your buying before xmas

remaps make the car what they should have been like as factory. its almost as if factory engines are detuned to allow for different grades of fuel. remaps cure this, plsu with a diesel you are very likely to get better ful economy at the same time as about 20% +more powerprob best value for money thing you can do on a car

I've been looking too Skippy, and most places seem to quote around 130-140bhp and 320nm torque, so I'm guessing a remapped 1.9PD is going to be similar to a stock 2.0 140PD.

I'm also interested to hear what shark_90 (Ben, Shark Performance) has to say on the subject, plus he's also running a group buy atm for Dec on the 1.9.

I think I might be very tempted once mine is out of warranty :D

Won't be a problem. Go for it :)

135-140bhp and torque will rise to 235lb/ft from 184lb/ft.

One of the guys at work has been running a Revo remap on his for about 2 years with no problems. The headline figure was 135 bhp, but he hasn't had it on a rolling road to determine the actual bhp.

How long did you want to keep your badge ? :)

if the butt dyno is happy theres no need for a dyno to be honest. its just nice to know what they are for willy waving contests, lol.

I have it on very good authority that about 150 + bhp is avaiable very easily....by using a bluefin remap :-)

With a good map you will find that the car will pull smoothly around to about 3.5k-4k rpm without too much of a problem.

I would make sure you dont get a map thats pushing way too much for the engine, mine pulled 150bhp at the wheels (160 at the flywheel) with 260ft/lbs of torque using V-Power Derv with a double dose of Millers Diesel Sport 4. The rolling road could have been optimistic, but i would like to think that the road was telling the truth :D It use to go well very well once it got going. The midrange push on the motorway could allow for 5th gear overtakes from 65mph in 5th, and could quite easily push another 25mph ontop of that in a rather smooth but suprising way.

A ideal map on these engines is around 135-140bhp, but i wouldn't go much further as the injectors are usually maxed out at 150bhp

As for fuel consumption, after mine was put back to standard of my own choice. I found the mpg to be almost identical on brim to brim fills.

My main concern would be extra wear and tear on things like the clutch, but if remapped to 135-140bhp was still well within acceptable tolerances then what the hey, it's like getting a 2.0TDI for the price of a 1.9TDI :D

I think if you took the right approach to driving by getting the engine going a little first, i think the clutch would last quite a while. But then again that depends on the state of the clutch before the map.

Did somebody say Shark? :D

We take the PD105 to 135bhp, and you'll be pleased to know that the STS supports the ECU and so you can apply the remap yourself without having to drive to us :) The STS is on offer at £399 until the end of the month, see http://briskoda.development.scalr.net/forums/showthread.php?t=163151 for more details. The STS is proving very popular especially with those who don't want to travel (just ask RobClubley :D) and the fact that it can be re-used on another car once you put your car back to standard is a huge bonus, all you need to do is buy another map pack at a discounted price.

I can't promise you PD105 owners 150bhp, but if you ask Browny the consequences of the "grenade" map that was on his car, you'll soon realise that you don't particularly want 150bhp..

Iam interested Mr.Shark but your links don,t work for some reason as i wan to read about this STS.

Who would know, at the taxi testing station all they do is run it on the the smoke test

The car is long out of warranty has had a new belt and the DMF replaced with the single one

Just need a bit more power for those over taking moves

That was my point.

No disrespect to your good self, but when I was of an age when I used to go out at the weekend (some years ago now) and needed to get a taxi, most taxi drivers drove everywhere way over the NSL anyway, so if they had a map......................... :o

Not at all , the PD 105 is one of the best cars to tune  , the only weakness tend to be the Dual mass flywheel   .  I have a PD105  in a caddy with DSG thats we tuned using our Dyno Dynamics RR and she is putting out   170hp and 312 lbft  with the same smoke levels as a very good calibration on a  retuned  PD130

A safe tune on a PD 105  should not  exceed 150 hp as it will hammer the dual mass
