Have you got outlook?

Yep have outlook as work email

Mozilla diaries/planners "Lightning" and "Sunbird": http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/

If your pc came with XP installed, no doubt MSWorks is installed even if you never use it. If so, there's a calendar in the Works suite.

I just use outlook for all notes, calendar etc, keeps me on track

Cant see on outlook if it will actually remind me on screen, will mozilla be a stand alone or will i need to be using other moz stuff ? and Google seems to want to send you eamils as reminders!!

Google with give you a pop up if you are logged in. I love google, and will be getting an Adroid phone to sync with it.

Outlook will give you a pop up too if you set reminders.

As I understand it Mozilla Sunbird is a standalone, while Lightning is dependent on Mozilla's web client (Thunderbird). There's some more information here: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/faq.html

I once installed Sunbird, but since my office webmail has a calendar integrated I hardly used it and later uninstalled it.

Outlook provides pop up reminders in Vista. And they are excellent!

Just powered up my XP pc to see what happens there. Yes, it too has reminders. Select 'Calendar' from the Outlook Folder list on the left hand side of your screen. Then hit 'Actions' in the top row (where it says File, Edit, View, Tools etc), select 'New Appointment' and put tick in the box next to the bell symbol when you want your reminders - 15 minutes to 5 hours is the range on mine.
