i know there are plently of VRS oil related threads but im asking have you got any recomendations for a good deal on top up oil at the moment, seen Castrol egde at Halfrauds for £15... anybetter deals on at the moment anyone know of?

Im using Gulf Tec semi syth, got it from Opie oils online. It meets the VW505.01 spec oil but isnt fully syth, but seeing as the cars not driven hard and its winter, itl do me fine until the next service where il either go to quantum oil or FUCHS.

Im told the quantum oil (factory fill oil from VW) isnt very expensive from trade part specialists so may be worth giving them a call

Halfords are doing 20% off Mobil 1 oil at the moment, meaning you can get

5 Litres, Mobil 1 esp 5w-30 (VW 505, 507) oil for £40.

Bargain price for high street prices mate,

Granted it's not a top up kit, but oil doesn't exactly have a sell by date, so just keep it in the garage

Halfords were giving away a set of screwdrivers with their 5litre (Halfords) brand of fully synthetic oil 5W 40 VW505.01 spec, back last November 2009.
