Servicing - Fixed or Variable for low mileage

Featured Replies

they surely wouldnt know. i believe you have to renew the drain plug each change

The ecu logs would show a change in engine oil quality.

I'd also be expecting them to see what oil was used, make of filter, and almost all dealerships suck the oil from the dipstick hole.

Def Fixed, its well worth the investment in oil to ensure the engine keps clean and healthy

Hi

i have a 2002 VRS and i am planning on doing yearly services and no more that 10000miles cause the car isnt used much. Do you think this would be ok if i use some fully synthetic oil SAE 5W-40 which has on the side VW502.00 & 505.0. German and swedish say i dont need longlife oil in the car even if it came from the factory in variable servcing. Also would this be the same on a 2002 TDI.

Thanks and look forward to your response.
