Apps not working in iPhone

Featured Replies

Ok you techno warriors out there can someone please assist in the extremely annoying problem I'm currently experiencing with my now ageing 2G iPhone (and before you suggest it I've trawled forum after forum trying to get to the bottom of this one!)

Problem I'm having is that any app I try and open immediately closes again (except those that are iPhone generic), I've tried re-syncing, deleting and reinstalling, rebooting .... pretty much everything and still no joy :(

If it's any help, I've recently updated to the latest software iTunes 3.1.. and have a new O2 sim card (pay & go) so perleeease if anyone out there with the knowledge or knowhow in helping let me know .... beer tokens at the ready for whoever comes up trumps :)

Is there some sort of event log on the piePhone?

can you explain, not sure where I'd find this tbh emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif

Never really used one!

It's probably hidden away, it's a log of everything that the phone is doing, just thought it might show what's actually going on when you try to open an app.

Have you done a full factory-restore?

and how do we do that then?

In iTunes, connect the device - then at the screen where you can choose the apps and stuff you can sync, there should be an option to restore to default.

Mine did something simular and I think it was this that fixed it. I think though it will delete any data stored in the apps (i.e notes, game saves etc).

Or you may wanna try uninstalling the last app that was put on before it went wrong.

Hope makes a difference,

Joe

was any of the apps updated or try to update over the phone connection or were all done by connecting to itunes on the computer? what i would personally do is revert to a previous backup and if that doesnt work then you be forced to do a restart via itunes but never fear all your apps will still be stored via itunes.

ITunes > Sync > Restore to default.

Did you Jailbreak the handset?

Thanks for the replies but managed to sort it out (eventually) by removing and reinstalling each app one by one! .............. took a while but all is well now emoticon-0148-yes.gif
