Picking up my car tomorrow, I have been offered a promo pack of bootliner, carpets and mudflaps for £99 is it worth it? bearing in mind I already added mudflaps to the car are there any promotions worth buying or do they differ from dealer to dealer?

Would you expect your new car to have some fuel thrown in when you pick it up?? I am travelling 300 miles to pick mine up,

Finally are there any things I should look out for when inspecting, besides the spec I have ordered and the usual close inspection what else would you look for.

Any suggestions welcome......Thanks

Someone here very kindly posted a checklist a while back. I apologise I can't find the original thread, but I've uploaded a copy of the checklist for you here:

Thanks phil, quite comprehensive but well worth it, just a thought though would the dealer have carried out an inspection too and if so would they have to give me a copy??

the inspection isnt worth the paper its written on.

Picked my audi up that had full list of ticks and signatures on the inspection only to find the rear tyres down at 20PSi and the steering racking leaking

Mmm .. the mats are listed at £50. I believe that the car comes with some mats, just the optional ones are nicer and say 'Octavia' on the driver's side one! Again, the boot is carpeted as standard. Whether you want an extra liner depends on the dirt you're likely (or not) to throw at it!

As for fuel .. I pushed for that before delivery (I should have asked for it as part of the deal!) but was told in no uncertain terms that the car just comes 'as delivered', which in my case was with about 1/4 tank. Wouldn't get you 300 miles .. but it was enough to get me to my local Tesco filling station.

Might be worth asking for any options you particularly want to be switched on in advance. I asked for the dips and parking lights enabled as DLR. The dealer had it set up with driver's door opening (you need to click the remote twice for the remaining doors to unlock), emergency lights on hard braking (I think - haven't tested that yet!). I also asked for the second (nearside) fog light to be enabled but for some reason they couldn't figure how to do that!

I had just enough in my tank to get to the petrol station. It was on fuel when I switched the engine on.:@ So I went back in and said I wasn't happy, so he reluctantly agreed to put 15 quid in!!:notme:

Had 1/2 a tank on mine, autoform boot liner, got ebay vRS mats with bluetrim for £30, front flaps £15.

When I ordered mine the salesman said a full tank of diesel was part of the OTR deal, so I'll make sure of that when I pick it up Tuesday!

Worth doing it - I have to say though that the guys at Motorpoint were astonished I was going to the trouble of checking everything. My comment was "if you were spending £15K of your hard earned cash on this wouldn't you?".........he buggered off after that!

Ah, apologies for the lack of credit - I couldn't remember who originally posted it, nor find it again when searching. Hope you didn't mind me reposting it.
