If you could choose an additional feature for the MFD3......

Featured Replies

I'd ask Skoda if there is a firmware update they could bring out to allow ipod videos to be played through the MDI connection :)

Who'd want to watch downgraded & then upscaled videos? Far easier to have them as normal avi's from the SD card?

And before you remind me - yes I know my Bolero won't play them at all B)

Surely a full postcode search should be the no.1 priority Bryan? It's one thing having a nicely integrated satnav but quite another crippling it by the lack of this one feature.

Are you really suggesting there would be a huge difference when watching on a small screen anyway ? Plus it keeps everything on the one source

Technically speaking, that would be an extension of an existing feature in my book, as opposed to an additional feature

I too would like to see video playback from SD card, either DIVX or another common format.

I like the postcode seatch as it is, having got used to it over the last 18 months.

Digital radio.

Actually I was just comparing the ipod to the SD card but do you mean that the Columbus doesn't actually play avi's or other videos from the SD card?

More formats such as divx would be beneficial though.

Digital radio

Now that should be more likely as it's already a possibility on the VW range of Bolero equivalent. Mind you, there's only so much space free space inside & the Columbus does have the HD which the Bolero doesn't

DAB is already an option, it is an external box IIRC.

QWERTY keyboard option

Shuffle play!

And I mean a proper shuffle, not within folders!

All the references from I have seen relating to VW (never seen anything from Skoda) state that DAB isnt available in conjunction with navigation. I'd be happy to be proved wrong and see it in a Skoda though..

DAB would be good, but would need hardware as well. For a pure software fix being able to read in standard Outlook vcf card destinations from the SD card rather than needing to do the whole search thing on the web.

How about audible warning for POIs and 6 character postcodes.

DAB is available as an addition for the columbus already, it costs nearly as much as the columbus. If you access the hidden diag menu, you can see the DAB option there, it just does not work.

I cant see it on the Skoda website, Where did you see it was available?

Not here in the UK, it was available in some european markets.

Speed camera warnings would be great!

Not that I speed of course.

Oh no, don't go there otherwise it will kick off the numpties on this site who say you don't need speed warnings........

Full postcode search - the curent system is clunky as hell after a TomTom. I've tried and tried but nope, its clunky and a TomTom IS better. 6 digit search is like STANDARD on even a £49.99 Halfrauds special so why not an £1800 all singing all dnacing touchscreen box of tricks?!!!

Actually, come to think of it the best feature would be more room behind the unit!!!
