Bolero Stereo

Featured Replies

I ordered a 1.8 TSI Estate SE towards at the end of Oct. I am still waiting for its arrival and have been told it will arrive in Jan (can't wait). I've been looking at the spec and I am aware that the car comes with the Bolero Stereo system. Can someone please clarify a few points:

1) Is the Bolero Stereo Unit digital?

2) I've noticed that the stereo unit has a 'phone' option on the console. Please advise me if this means that I will be able to use a mobile phone with this device and how this is done? I m aware that the brochure that I have mentions a list of phones that are compatible with the Bluetooth System (I can only assume this means in relation to the phones and nothing else needs to be added to the Bolero unit).

1) If you are talking about DAB digital radio, then no it doesn't have that.

2) If you have ordered the Bluetooth carkit preparation then yes, you can use the mobile phone. If you haven't gone for the prep, then it will just act as a mute button for the stereo.

1: No, you'd need to buy a separate module for that.

2: You needed to specify it when ordering, it usually comes in conjunction with the Multifunction Steering Wheel (MSW), it's a £690 option on the SE. (4 spoke multi-function steering wheel for radio

and telephone including Bluetooth®, Maxi-dot and small leather package)

Many thanks for that. I've looked through the Retailer Supplied Accessories and I am unable to see the 'Bluetooth carkit preparation'. Any idea's where I can get this??? and for how much??

The bluetooth kit is a factory installed kit, and not a dealer accessory and as such should have been specified when the car was ordered.

I think you can get it retrofitted but it will be expensive.

Yes see that now. Many thanks for pointing it out. I haven't ordered that and will probably do without. However, still looking forward to delivery..
