My Car is costing me £900 just before Xmas

Featured Replies

My Beloved blue bullet is going to cost me just short of £900 just before Xmas :( :(

It's not broken before you all start :p

Basically it's having a 3rd Variable Service, Cambelt & Water Pump change (which is my choice at 51k miles) and the garage are kindly fitting some DS2500 pads to the front all for £650 which is a bargain price as they have an offer on at the moment where they pay the VAT so its saved me about £100. The garage are good though as the Service Guy was doing his best to talk me out of the CamBelt & Water Pump change as they only need doing at 75k according to them (i thought it was 60k myself) but with the car being heavily modified id rather pay out now than have to fork out for a new engine

Then i am getting 2 x New front tyres fitted which is cost £238.50 fitted (Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta if your wondering)

Not good just before Xmas, Honeymoon to pay by 8th Jan and Wedding coming up at end of March. Plus 4 Family Birthdays between Jan & End of march.

It's all bloody money these days. Why can't we just make everything free :giggle: :giggle:

Carl

You could always cancel the wedding............

Ouch , big time , better to be safe than really really sorry mate, and look at it this way , do you want to close your eyes next to someone you just cancelled a wedding on :giggle:

I bet he sleeps with one eye open anyway. ;)

That's a bit of a bummer Carl, I have to say

(For less than £400 more you could have had 4 tyres and a set of anthracites - sure I've seen something like that advertised on here somewhere

£900 on the motor with no mention of upgrades?

Shame on you Carl emoticon-0114-dull.gif

Ferodo DS2500's there deffinatly an upgrade :D

... and what about what you owe me :p

I kind of assumed that with 250+bhp on tap, Carl already had upgraded pads. emoticon-0110-tongueout.gif

Why ? Brakes only slow you down :D

I've just spent close to £1500 keeping the beast on the road recently. I feel your pain.

51k miles

So, that's 30k clockwise and 21k anti-clockwise around the barracks.

Good job I told you to alternate after your 1st 9k else you'd have gone through even more tyres.

:p

It doesn't matter how good your brakes are if your tyres are crap. Decent brakes (which the vRS ones are) and decent tyres are a better combination. I only got the DS2500's as they were at a bargain price. Plus i never drive to the point where the brakes aren't up to the job.

I've told you before Crystal Meth is not good for you :smirk:

I sold some Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta 2 weeks old at £100 for both as i couldnt get on with them about a month ago :( since then 2 pilot sports and another new one last week for a puncture and today its got its 2nd variable service so i totally understand just before christmas

by the way Carl, have your pads turned up?
