Postal Re-map - 90 TDI ALH

Featured Replies

Hi All

I am considering a re-map through ECU Evolutions via a postal service via eBay for my 90bhp ALH TDI Ambiente. The cost of the re-map is £99, and you post off your ecu to ECU Evolutions and is returned within a couple of days, ready to plug in and play.

I have read the feedback on eBay and all seem very positive, but I am still a bit unsure whether to take the plunge, and whether it would be best for my car. Logic tells me to have it re-mapped and tuned properly, which costs around £250-£300, but the price of this service offered considerable savings can be made!

I have enquired with them the gains for a 90 ALH and it is 35bhp and 60nm of torque.

Your views/experiences are much appreciated!

Dan

Personally I don't like the idea of posting my ECU - the thought of it going astray scares me!

PM the member Beryls Chief Pilot, he has had a postal remap on his VRS and is getting one (from the same company I believe) on his 110TDI Octy too.

I have a ECU Evolution remap on my TDI 110 (AHF) and it is a really good quality map. No problems at all.

Thanks for the replies so far!

Another question - what do I tell my insurance company if I have it done and what would the change in premium likely to be......

Dan

Tell them before you have it done

Increase in the premium depends on the insurers. As an example, my insurers won't cover ANY mods on my car, but a fellow member who's in his forties only pays an extra £80 on top of his premium for his car being remapped.
