STREAM WIRING

Featured Replies

New member here. Just got into a Skoda Octavia after some drunk totalled my 1.9 130bhp Seat Cordoba - broke my heart - but all is going well with the Octavia so far. This subject has probably been broached before, but there are over 120 pages on this particular subject and I don't have the time to go through all of them.

What I need kinda rapid is the wiring diagram for a Stream double din radio. I am fitting a bluetooth to stay legal, which is not a brain buster, but can be difficult if you are trying to guess the wires rather than get it right first time. I also intend to fit an amp and speakers into the back of the car and need to know if there are RCA outs at the back of the radio. I am reluctant to take the radio in and out too many times and need to get this done in one go.

Any help appreciated - even if it's only directions to another bit of t'internet.

Many thanks for that. Just dropped the thing out and it has a diagram on the top. Don't see a cable for a switched live and I'm not certain about the phone mute either. I said before that I did not want to take the radio out too many times and I'm proved right - the aerial broke off at the base; should be able to fix it with an old lead. It also doesn't have any audio outputs, so where do I go from here. She Who Must Be Obeyed was persuaded to buy me a new set of speakers for Christmas and they definitely need to be amped. Is there any sort of ISO connector or something that I can use? I could go the speaker/amp/speaker route but that is a major pain in the nether portions and means an entire car rewire. This thing is built like a brick outhouse and there is not much wriggle room. As you can guess I don't want to rebuild the entire car just to get a set of speakers in.

Depending upon what bluetooth you have, you should be able to buy the corresponding quad lock interface to allow the BT to mute the car audio when calls are being made.

This may be able to be modded to allow to you to control the amp as well.

Why not try your local Halfords for initial info as they may be able to give you some pointers

There is NO switched live at the back of any octy2 headunits, you will need to run a switched supply direct from the fusebox. The stream headunit is controlled via canbus so does not require a switched feed.

For the amp, you will need to get one that accepts speaker level inputs and possibly patch into the rear speaker connections in the back of the car. The stream does not support the "Sound system" upgrade which would have given you a compatible "line out" at the headunit at the expense of the hu internal amp (audience, mfd3 required for this).

Its also worth pointing out, that there are 2 versions of the Stream and each had different connections on the back, particularly in relation to the Phone Mute function and CD Changer gound point.
