Alloy wheel replacement

Featured Replies

I run a 2004 Octavia Elegance Estate that runs on 205/55/r16 alloy wheels. I have sourced some almost new alloy wheels and tyres from a 2009 Octavia saloon. These are shod with 195/55/r16 tyres.

Can anyone advise of any problems that may result from changing from the original wheels and tyres to the slightly narrower tyre on the replacement alloys? I am aware they may slightly affect the accuracy of the speedo by about 1.5%. I know of no other problem. I would be pleased to hear if anyone has any views on this so I don't make a mistake in buying the newer alloys.

Thanks.

alloys will not fit as the mk 2 uses a different PCD.

I seriously doubt they're going to fit!!!

IIRC

2004 Octavia (Mk1) PCD 5x100

2009 Octavia (Mk2) PCD 5x112

The question about the tyres is the least of your worries i'd say
