Cold Weather

Anyone else finding the cabin slow to warm up, or is it just me?

Cabin warms ok, but it is a big space. I wait for the temp to move before turning fans on and rely on the heated elements.

I guess your initial driving profile will dictate this, I get to a bit of open road quite quickly in the morning so temp soon climbs. n the evening run I get town traffic for 3 miles and it's not untill I'm through there that I notice a temp climb.

What I'm not so happy with is the cold on the screen wash system, it seems prone to cold freezing, the pop out things actually got stuck the other day, came back after parking in the sun and they had retracted.

Now I am VERY glad that I specced a heated screen and heated nozzles. They have proved to be worth their weight in gold.

Superbs 170cr warms up quicker than my 140 pd.If you want faster warm up go for a petrol.

I have found the screen wash system freezing as well (never happened on the Octavia), I buy pre mixed screen wash so might be advisable to add concentrated in the winter months!

does this happen on both your cars ? just curious as the petrol one has heated washer jets (i know as i paid extra for them). although in this cold weather teh fluid freezes before it gets to the nozzles. I think you are better buying concentrate (its a lot cheaper - why pay for water !) and then mixing it pretty strong so its helps prevent the fluid freezing

Don't forget to pump some of the stronger solution through the jets after topping up. otherwise it'll be a waste of time. :)
