yeti 1.2 tsi real mpg?

Featured Replies

After only 200km on my new yeti 1.2 tsi, driven mainly in urban situation, maxy dot is reporting a real consumption of 10,2l/100km. Converterd in mpg (uk) it should be 28,82 mpg. It's very high and i'm driving really quit using the gear suggestion of the car. I'm expecting to reduce it in the following few days.

What's your experience?

Gabriele

It's far from run-in yet!

It is way too early, and you are probably way tooooo nice to it. Put you foot down a little and when it is no longer just short trips, it will get up in the 50 mpg like it should. The gear change indications are much too conservative.

Average of 50mpg from the 1.2 ?

I doubt it - I'll be happy with 40 !

Sorry, forgot the non-Diesel.

Mine has now done about 500 miles and a recent long trip on A roads and motorway (with passengers) with a little bit of town driving as well averaged just over 38 mpg. That is pretty much identical to what I have been getting on short trips to work etc.

Thankfully I haven't had to do much stop/start urban stuff.

Should also add I'm just using standard (91 Ron ?) unleaded, not a 'higher mileage' super unleaded

Hi weaver,

would think your using 95 octane with super being 98. You find 91 on the continent but it's not advisable to use it for modern 'high tech' engines. Filler flap usually gives the minimum and or maximum grade you can use.

I believe there is now in excess of 100 octane Super available for JC & Co

I knew it was 90 something!

UK fuel is cr@p anyway, I get an extra 20-25% MPG out of French fuel.

On a long run using UK fuel my "tank" (Previa), averages 25mpg, on French petrol I average 29.9mpg, BUT my usual French journey includes climbing 8,000ft up the Alps on narrow, twisty roads with 1st gear hairpins!!!!
