Tyre pressure monitor?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I read somewhere that all cars produced in Europe in 2010 have to have a Tyre pressure monitor does anyone know

if this will be the case for the Yeti? Mine gets delivered in January and am thinking whether this will now be installed?

all the best

Jerry

Some have put it to good use, but it never did me any good.

Did you get the option when you placed your order?

No I was hoping that it was now going to be an added extra FOC thing, err I'm tight

when it comes to adding optional extras ;-)

I have a tyre pressure monitor on my VW, hasnt done anything in 2 years but this summer I was coming back from wales when the light came on.

I stopped and looked at the wheels, they all looked OK so jumped back in and drove off.

2 miles later there was a flup, flup, flup noise from the rear.

stopped again and a rear tyre was well down, changed it to the spare and found a big nail in the tread.

clearly the sensor gave me early warning, if I had checked the pressures when it came on I would have spotted the faulty tyre, (doh!)

So a useful tool if you pay attention to it.

Cheers, Dave
