Road Tax

Featured Replies

I have a MY 07 Fabia VRS and the road tax is £120 and in 2010 it goes down to £110, -- yet my Mums is a MY 56 Fabia VRS and the road tax is £125 and in 2010 stays the same, I would have thought it was the same engine through the range. Crazy

It's not.

Check the Engine code!

All vRS's upto September 06ish were ASZ euro III the earliest with longer gearing, Hence lower tax bracket

From Sept 06ish the engine became euro IV compliant and was coded as BLT

If you look at the VIN number i.e. TMBWU46Y97*******

digits 7+8 are the chassis type.

digit 10 is the model year!

It's possible you're mum's car is a late registered 06MY car hence the higher emissions/tax

Glad I've just taxed mine for 6 months then :p

My cars engine code is a BLT yet its Jan 06, yet i still pay the higher tax!

Yea, mines a MY54 and the tax is £125 and stays the same for next year.

Mine pollutes 146g/km so it stays the same.

What does the revised BLT pollute then?

143 g/km for the newer BLT engine like in mine...

143 g/km for the newer BLT engine like in mine...

Well in that case, the road tax for all vRS's is £125 as the bands stay the same like now and if it's 143g/km it's in the same band as mine (146g/km), as the band for that is 141 - 150g/km, here take a look....

or am I just reading it wrong?

My dad has a focus TDCi and his will drop next year as his is 139g/km as he paid the same as me this year.

Ben

We'll all pay £125 in that case - your dad's Focus should be £110 from start of 2010.

Yea it as as he was quite happy about it.....git

When I first got my Fabia VRS in 2005 I paid £115, --2006 £115,-- 2007 £110,-- 2008 £120,-- 2009 £125. As you see it can down and go up ?? got old discs to prove the point.

I think the middle tax rates are wrong. According to VCA, the cars registered from 01 May 2004 to 30 April 2005 are in Band F. http://www.vcacarfueldata.org.uk/search/usedcar/vehicleDetails.asp?id=22226

My 2004/04 car was registered on 23/07 (July) 2004 and produces 146 g/Km according to the V5 doc. This means I will pay £125 this and next year. :(

You can check you car here: Vca car fuel Data - Used Car search

Mum says when Log Book comes she will check, but she has paid £125 for this year

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... BLT......... emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

Dollop of Helmans!

Perfect!

Thats funny how the VRS has a much lower tax price than my dads X reg 1.9tdi.

He's got to fork out almost 190 quid next month for a year!!! (I think its around that price) why is it so different!? the engine is still economical as a 03 plate?

my 1.4 16v is about £110 next month.
