Wiper blades.

Featured Replies

Howdo.

I hope this is in the right sort of area, if not would a kind mod move it where it should go?

I am hoping one of you experienced Skoda owners will tell me who is the best supplier of wiper blades; should I go OE or are aftermarket blades acceptable (bearing in mind, natch, that there's aftermarket and aftermarket, if you get my drift), and if I'm going a/m which is the best? Champion? Motor factors own brand?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

The BOSCH AEROTWIN and the model of 937S (600mm and 475mm), says on box for Golf mk5 and Audi A3 04 >. The Bosch are the same make what it left the factory with. I bought mine 2 weeks off ebay, new boxed etc for only £21 all in, Halfords etc are near £30!

I brought some bosh ones about 2 months ago and there were terrible they were so loud and bouced on the windscreen i give up with them and brought some off skoda for £15 they are slient and far better, in the past ive always used bosh stuff and found them brillant but this time OEM is the way for me, but that was on my fabia

I still have the standard blades after near on 40K miles.

Standard blades will do me :)

On my car it came with Bosch from the factory, you could see the logo on them....

Thanks peeps, food for thought there.

Merry Xmas everyone!

Why not fit refills? you will need:

2 off 1K0955429A @ 4.92 + VAT each (VW part No. Skoda do not list wiper refills)

Have you thought of the flat retrofit blades. I had some put on recently at Awesome Gti and they were a sound investment. I'd go so far as to say the best wiper blades I've ever had.I think they were made by bosch too!

Perhaps he would not think of this as the car is an Octy II and they already have flat blades fitted ;)

He's right, they do.

  • 1 year later...

Just been on Aceparts via Amazon to get new aero blades for SWMBO Getz-. £7.99 a pair.Fitted well once I understood the instructions. Unbranded but a good trial before buying them for the Octavia at £10.45. An internet search showed Valeo at £21 and Bosch for up to £33.

Yup 44K and 4years they still work fine.

I tried a pair of Wiperblades.co.uk's own make ones as they were quite a bit cheaper (and got good Autoexpress reviews)....and for a reason. Lasted just over 12months before they started disintegrating (within a month of each other). Have bought Bosch replacements and so far things are fine.

i just bought a front and rear set from Skoda a few months back.

Mine are starting to give up the ghost at 45k miles, can you mail order OEM ones or do I need to drop in to my local Skoda dealer?

Presumably they're the same as the VW ones, and there's a VW dealer just over the road from the office, but are they going to cost more than from Skoda?
