Millers Diesel Sport - New Ecomax

Featured Replies

Saw an advert for this in Golf + the other day.

Apparently the new DSP4. Anybody tried it?

No :p

The "Eco" bit in the name doesn't sound too exciting to me. I like "Sport" or " Plus" in my product names. Small minded I am.

we just had a group buy on this a few weeks ago . I got two bottles im still on my first tank i have done 190 miles with it in havent noticed any difference :S

The new stuff is called Diesel Power Ecomax. I think it is the same as DSP4 in a different bottle. However there is now new additive for petrol engines.

Mliiers Oils - Power Ecomax

I have bought some for £10 at a local Motor factors, but not used it yet as we've got plenty of DSP4 left.

Are you running double strength Darren?

Millers do claim that there's a "clean-up" period of around 200 miles or so. If SWMBO can tell the difference when I put some in her Roomster then I'm sure you'll notice a change soon enough

I've just bought a bottle, but have yet to try it yet. I will do once I've finished the last of the miller sport4 (or whatever it's called).

I'll let you know if there's any difference once I've run a few tanks

Well anyones car under warranty will be void if you put this in. (it is an additive) most diesel has all the additives you need already.

Anyone know whats actually in the stufff.....lol....or shall we blindly put it in our tanks.

And this is different to putting 2T oil in your car because ????

no not tried it should make a difference heard millers stuff is good

totally agree with the above.

I read the oil bible which mentions additives being particularly bad over a long period of time. High quality diesel and petrol comes with mild detergents built in already according to what I read, and the producers like Shell, BP spend loads of money in research into this.

Worth reading this http://www.essortment.com/hobbies/fueladditives_sfsd.htm

Rather than use fuel additives I tend to spend more on servicing. i.e. I change my oil every 3 months. Air and fuel filters are changed every 6 months/

But anyway..this is slightly off topic.

There's alot of people that use Millers and swear by it but i've never seen any tests on it or noticed any difference personally (when used on previous cars)

I know that using a premium diesel (ultimate, vpower) makes the engine

smoother (quieter)

more powerful over the entire rev range (if you slow down to say 25-30mph in 4th gear, the engine will still pull when you put your foot down, it won't pull if I use normal diesel)

more willing to rev/pull hard into the top end of the rev range.

I've found that Millers additives enhances the above effects by a tiny tiny bit.

It's not something that's super amazing, but for my personal tastes, I like to think I am getting the most out of the engine at all times.

I doubt that the newer ECO plus stuff is gonna anything majorly different, probably just marketing hype/rebranding excersise
