Aftermarket HID guide?

Featured Replies

I get bulb warnings on my Fabia. Had a brake light go and got a ping and a lamp on the dash. I've got OEM HID's though so I don't know if that makes any difference?

I stand corrected. I didn't need warning packs on my Roomy so not sure why it would be the same on the Fabia.

Anyone got a spare pair of Fabia headlight rear plastic covers? I don't fancy cutting mine.

The difference is that Renault and Volvo designed those reflector headlights specifically around a HID bulb.

I also get bulb warning lights hence why you cannot fit a battery harness thereby making ecu damage even more likely

Exactly!

Simply throwing a HID kit into any lamp housing not designed for it will cause glare to oncoming drivers.

It looks a tight gap between the inside of the plastic cover and the back of the bulb and I'd guess a right ball ache to get the the cover back on, especially with the wires and grommet in place.

Anyone care to enlighten me onto how hard it is.

If you must insist on fitting the tat, you drill a hole with a 20mm hole cutter (from memory) in the plastic and it will all fit, with some persuasion.
