could some one please tell me where the raditor resivior cap is situated on a 53 reg octavia? i have been loosing coolant and can see a very small drip when the engine is running on idle. Do you think its worth sticking in radweld?

On the TDi, it is on the drivers side, towards the front of the bonnet area, next to the power steering tank. You don't say what engine you have, but I think they are all in a similar place.

The cap is on the expansion tank, the white plastic globe on the drivers side inner wing. I have seen them leak from the plastic coolant housing on the cylinder head just above the gearbox. The pink G12 coolant leaves a pink powder behind, once the water has evaporated. If you find pink staining, you can follow it back to the source of the leak.
