My New vRS

Featured Replies

FINALLY took the plunge and bought myself a vRS, 66,000 miles on the clock , 05 plate for £5100, which I think is a decent price to pay.

Originally had a fabia 1.2 HTP, which, in comparision makes the vRS feel like a ferrari, the power just keeps on coming! I could probably reverse faster in the vRS then I can go fowards in the 1.2.

Car has a few niggles:

  • Blower isn't very powerful through the vents under the windowscreen
  • Lock/Unlock button on the drivers armrest doesnt work (although did work when I first pressed it, so dont know whats going on there)

Anyone know how many miles I can expect out of a full tank of fuel? the 1.2htp did 300 miles to the tank so im hoping its going to be more than that.

let the modding begin!

Driving mine carefully I've seen 550 miles left on the trip ( after a full fill up ) driving even more carefully I've seen it rise almost to 580 (using BP ultimate)

yeah that seems a good price . B) i get about 380 from a tank £45ish to fill. I fill as soon as the light comes even tho it still says on the fuel comp that i have 70 miles left in the tank .

Sounds a good price. I'm sure you'll love the somewhat better performance in the vRS. And over 500 miles a tank is possible. Enjoy.

Heres the car on the dealers site: http://www.karz2go.com/shop/imageview.asp?file=../gal/allcars/MJ05LWX.jpg to keep you going till I can get some proper pictures up :D

More importantly how do I go about lowering it? I've heard Eibach and Koni thrown around this forum but have no idea where to buy from.

Also, second on the shopping list will be a remap, but where can I get one done in Kent?

Last (for the time being) on the shopping list will be some black-ish alloys or respray the OEM ones?

Any advice will be greatly appriciated :D

Very nice standard vRS there matey.

I personally have the Eibach springs and shocks which lower to a perfect level for me, but I am also runnin 17's over the standard 16's which make a difference to the look.

Be prepared to travel a good distance for a remap. It is important to get it done by a reputable company or site sponsor as unfortunately there are far too many cowboys out there now. Try Unit 18 whic is probably about 130 miles from where you are in kent. Well worth the trip.

SR

The weak blower will be most likely due to a blocked up pollen filter. Stump up the £15 or so and get a new genuine one in there. :)

i got some porsch boxster s rims for sale which look awesome on a fabia, especially a lowered one, chech for sale section for more details, and i don't think anyone has had them on a fabia then painted them black B)

Nice looking Fabia - best colour too ;)

I'm from Kent too, I know its a big county but I might see you about :) lol

Nice car, how about doing something really radical with it. Leave it as standard :thumbup:

with fuel economy i see between 420-480 miles from a full tank. Thats a mixture of motorway and town driving.

for a remap you could try amdtechik who are in Thurrock. Or sanspeed in bexleyheath.

I dont know of any other remappers around here.
