Which Discs and Pads should I go for? Skoda at a franchise, or a specialist perfornance garage?

Featured Replies

Hi,

For front discs and pads, from franchises I'e been quote from 148 up to 225.

At a 'performance' garage (Subaru specialist) they'e quote me 180 fitted, saying that they could prob price match the 148 or better it using the same supplier that the Skoda dealer would use. But he reckons that the 180 ones would be far superior and more suited to my chipped car. (The chip is the only mod I have).

What would you guys do given my situation?

Thanks

John

Did they mention what disks/pads they wanted to fit?

If youve uprated your BHP id think about uprating your discs and pads as well , if you are in need of changing them then you may as well get the uprated stuff , there doesnt seem any point in fitting standard stuff , use this as a chance to uprate your brakes.

Try your local TPS http://www.thetradepartsspecialists.co.uk/ if you go for genuine parts, very good discounts!!, thats where im off to on sat for mine, says on the web site only for trade but if you go in thay will sell to you!
