Re-attaching blower adjuster spring arm (Fabia VRS)

Featured Replies

Hi guys (and gals!)

I was wondering if any one can help me. To cut a long story short I had to replace my air-con controller unit (the one with the three dials) & when I removed the old one the flexy arm/spring that adjusts where the air blows out (screen, face, feet) came off the other end (the part that attaches to the car, not the 3 dial controller unit).

My question is this - how do you get it back on easily!!!

I've had the surround off below my steering wheel & I can 'just' see the spigot that the arm attaches to - but its too tight for me to get my hand in & attach it. I think I can get to it if I remove the lower central surround, but does this mean removing all of the upper dash before I can get to it?

Any advice will be truelly appriciated.

PS. On a side note - after removing the lower surround under my steering wheel, I had remove the air con hose that attaches the blower in that little drivers side glove box thing - how the heck to you re-attach it after the surround is reattached - you cant get to it & it has to be emoved for the surround to go back on???

PSS. Sorry if this post is in the wrong section, but I couldnt post in the 'Ask a Tech' section. If a mod wants to move it feel free.

Welcome to Briskoda,

I would download the Skoda Workshop manual from Mediafire, and the bodywork manual.

You need to remove the centre consul, and also make sure the flexi shaft is fitted, with the control gears in a certain position.

You do not need to remove the dash.

Manual section you need to view are Bodywork Rep G68 for the centre consul

and 80-2 Page 3 for the flexi shaft fitting which is in the aircon manual.

Cheers Moggy, will look into that.
