mp3?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I pick up my 06 0ctavia vrs this week, cant wait!!

One thing tho, does cd autchanger- mp3 mean i can attach my iphone/ipod to the sterio??

Thanks

Steve

You can, but it will not be easy :(

No.

You can't attach an Ipod unless you use either the Aux Socket or MDI, you can obviously still use your Iphone as normal, but not with the Skoda BT system as it's not entirely compatible with it.

What you can do is create MP3 CDs on your computer and play them in the CD player, you can't afaik play Apple's AAC system or MP4p (protected music files).

Why won't it be easy?

The radio can't accept an iPhone/iPod natively, but with a Dension Gateway 100 or 300 you can easily use your iPhone with the standard head unit. If you have Maxidot then you can get full menu text control and tracknames on your cluster display - see here for an example http://www.sharkperformance.co.uk/news/article.asp?id=118 . If you need any information on any of that, feel free to give me a shout.

That's the point though, it can't do it natively without using either the Aux Input socket or MDI, got them & you're laughing.

The OP doesn't state whether their car comes with either & how much does a Dension Gateway 100 or 300 cost to buy & fit?

A little fishing for trade? ;)
