snow chains on 17' alloys

Featured Replies

Hi to all and HNY....

Did somebody try to mount snow chains on 17' pegasus alloys with sport suspension???

I could not use normal snow chains on R17's even with raised suspension. Normal chains will likely hit your suspension when you hit a bump and your car might spin out of control.

I use Maggi Trak (no. 213 for 225/50/R15).

Expensive but these kind of tracks are the only safe option that will not likely hit the suspension. Similar products of other manufacturers exist, it will cost about 250 Euro at least.

tnx for good info and your answer....any other advices...???

I ordered these chains but number 210 as it what was listed for a VRS with 225/45/r17 tyres. Not tried them on the car yet though.

Anyone tried snow bootz? these look a lot less hassle than those bloody chains.

Another simillar product is the Autosock, which looks even easier to install that the snow boot.
