Origin b2 or b2 solo price

Featured Replies

Seriously thinking of buying an origin b2 or b2 solo the cheapest I have found so far for the B2 is

you need to make sure that the company your buying from is an offical outlet otherwise you'll not get an warrenty.

Thats a good price, I got mine from radargurl last year for

At 'official' Origin stockists the price is fixed by the manufacturer IIRC.

Hi Rich

The other suppliers have now agreed to pricematch and take off

The seller not the manufacturer has to provide a guarantee under current legislation. See below.

I also want to get a gps based system but it has been publicised that there are changes coming for the legality of many detectors

Current reports say that gps based ones will still be ok but detector only ones will be banned but I'm waiting to hear the final storey before committing a lot of money.

At the moment there is no definate word about systems that combine both gps and detectors

Well the origin b2 should be ok as the LASER detector is not built in its on a seperate wire and can be removed, the micro road pilot is also the same.

Phoned them up to check and if the ban comes in it will only be for the laser detector which can be unplugged, and they will still carry on supplying the position updates anyway.

Would be very hard to enforce in my opinion. If they banned the likes of the B2 would it also be illeagal to have the position of a a camera stored as a waypoint on a GPS unit?

Probably would have to ban it all normal gps units with waypoints B2 is a basic gps unit without the routefinder (can't wait until they do both together.... probably ten minutes after I buy the B2  ) but I can't see how they will enforce it as it's a passive unit so they can't detect it from outside the car and I am sure they have better things to do ;)
