Yes it does exist been making enquires myself as I took something similar out with the wife's Corsa. Need to speak to the dealer again though to clarify a few points, as it does not appear to be as straight forward as the Vauxhall plan.

No literature to go on either which doesn't help. :S

My take on the fixed cost service is this:

There is a 4 year guarantee, maximum 100, 000 km or 2 year unlimited mileage on the Yeti here in Denmark. Same on the Octy and Superb. Service requirements is 30,000 km oil change etc., which in my case is about once per year. Add changing tyres twice per year.

Since you can get a fixed price on the service - quotes from several dealers - and the tyre cahnge costs £15 per wheel, that is fixed cost. Anything additional is under the guarantee for at least the first 100,000 km. Now you can easily compare the cost of the fixed service plan with what you otherwise would pay.

It is like the extended guarantees on dishwashers etc. - a way for the dealer to make extra money. Why pay extra for something that has no risk?

My advice has been that cars with a high annual mileage (taxis etc) would benefit from the fixed cost maintenance but cars with variable service intervals and lower mileage (12000-15000 in my case) may be paying too much for the more extended service intervals. Its a bit like the Domestic & General extended warranties on washing machines - very good if you need them but "over the odds" if your machine performs for a five year period without trouble.

Incidentally the UK guarantee is 3 years but, I understand, it can be extended at a reasonable cost.

Been looking at the option for time and distance servicing plan i.e. every 10,000 miles or 12 months which ever comes first.

Most of my driving is rural with quite a bit of 'up & down dale'. So far I have followed the variable program with my previous 3 VAG cars but never been comfortable with the state of the oil towards the end. This time I think it's best to have her serviced time and distance as the variable service is probably more suited to up and down a motorway all day and doing 20,000 plus a year.

Looking like the service plan may work out about the same, or just less than the current combined cost of three years of servicing but you can pay monthly so spreading that cost which I would prefer.

Hi All

Has anyone gone with the fixed price plan? I picked my Yeti up 2 weeks ago and am contemplating it.

As the 3 year full package deal (maintenance and tyres) is about £17 and includes an air con service and brake fluid change I'm thinking that's not a bad deal.....or am I wrong?

I took this out because I prefer the idea of paying monthly for the servicing etc. The maintenance plan also covers bulbs. Given the work and cost involved in changing an indicator bulb I though it was worth it!!! Never had one go on a car before but you can bet your life that at £80 a go with labour it will happen on this one :yes:

Worth pointing out that you are covered at any Skoda dealer - so if your away and something goes you can sort it there and not at the supplying dealer.
