Octavia VRS mk2 Dump Valve

Featured Replies

Hi all, can any of you help me out in picking the right dump valve for my octy mk2, looked through internet at loads but still unsure which to go for.

Any help with which brand (bailey, forge etc), which type of dump valve and any decent suppliers or outlets where I can buy one from would be great. Also is a fitting kit always needed, or do you most of the time get one with the dump valve. Considering a re-map too any help again would be great. Thanks all.

The best (and cheapest) option is the OEM version D piston type valve.

And if you're looking for a remap, give us a call :)

The car already has a re-circ valve on the turbo, same effect as a dump valve but doesnt waste the boost. If your just after the noise you want a forge blow off spacer

i had the forge spacer and it sounded so chavvy it was unreal. sounded great if i was hammering it, but when your driving through town and its whooshing like crazy, you ook like a right tool. I ended up taking it off in the end.

I now have the ITG open filter intake and it makes a similar whoosh noise, but not as chav in sound, but it only does it when you hit the gas hard. IMO if you want the whoosh, get yourself an open cone air filter such as the ITG, EVOMS, BSH true seal. plus you wil have a good hp increaseas well

The BOV on my K04'd car sounds totally different to the one fitted when I had the K03...sounds insane now :)

Best choice, without doubt, is the Forge Spacer.

If your after a remap id speak to ben@sharkperformance(AKA shark_90).

dan_the_v8man above has had two maps from him, on his previous TDI and his new audi TFSI and he rates them highly. I am also running his stage 3 map and its pretty potent. much better than the equivalent bluefin remap i had before

alternatives are

REVO, APR, and a multitude of others but they are the big ones

heres a poll of what remaps people are using on here

that would be expected though, before it was placed under the engine on the turbo, now your on the k04 its at the front of the engine bay so the sound is more noticable

True, but it sounds totally different, in a good way. Did you say you were going to the Awesome RR day on the 23rd?

im not, carl is iirc. looking forward to seeing your results now shes bedded in a bit now.

I've got Sy's old Forge blow off valve sitting here on my desk - it doesn't fit the new revision D diverter valves, only the revision before, fitted to e.g. 2006 cars.

Yours for not very much money if you want it :)

Loads of vids on Youtube for the blow off sound.

Thanks all, lots of help and info. Will the blow of valve you have fit straight onto my Octy Vrs 55reg, if so how much you want for it pal, I`v looked on forge website think they`re around 45-50. Job for garage to fit??

Local garage near me Autotronix Developments usually service and deal with me, take it to them?

Yes it would fit that, unless at some point your car has had the new revision D diverter valve fitted which would be a possibility, as the older ones are prone to failure. Mine was fine however, I only changed to the revision D when the power started creeping up :)

I paid £25 to Sy but I'm never going to use it - you can have it for £20 including postage.

Fairly straightforward to fit, just 3 bolts and you're done - fitting instructions are on the forge website. The tricky bit is getting access to the diverter valve area itself, which is very tight and right underneath the engine. Think Sy did it himself though and loads of others.

Holy thread revival batman!

Revision G is the most up to date one.
