Snow Socks...No stock!

Featured Replies

Hi...been trying to order Snow Socks as the weather here in Luddenden West Yorkshire still awful but Autosock and Brindley Chains no stock! Anyone know of anywhere else to try.

I've ordered some Autosocks from roofbox.co.uk, but they're out of stock too!

I expect that they'll come just in time for the thaw! :(

Everywhere seems to be out of stock for Octavia sizes. I think you won't get any this side of this year's snow.

Luckily bought mine last year and used them for the first time today. A neighbours car had to be towed by a 4X4 to get out of my close.

Best bet would be Ebay as the item should be in stock when up for auction. Checked today for someone at work and they had a wide range listed with various sellers.

I bought a set of Multi Grip, which are a similar thing, off E-Bay. I paid on the 7th and they haven't arrived yet.

I've set a reminder to buy a set in July. Assuming the snow has gone by then...

And looking at their feedback on E-Bay quite a few negative feedbacks are coming in because of non delivery

Looks like I'm not getting mine. Going to have to set up a PayPal dispute I think.

From www.roofbox.co.uk at 00:23 Friday 15th Jan:

Update on AutoSock stock, Thursday evening 14th January: To those of you who have been waiting for AutoSocks - Good News for almost all of you! The stock is here and we are working hard to despatch as much as possible on Friday, with the remainder leaving on Monday. We are still short of sizes 695 and 697 until sometime late next week.

To those who haven't yet ordered: Please order as normal, but note that we are unlikely to be able to offer a normal "Next Day" service until Monday, depending on order volumes over this coming weekend. "First come, first served."

Our telephone and e-mail systems: Both of these are hopelessly overloaded. If your enquiry is very important, for example a change of delivery address for AutoSock or snow chains, or an order cancellation, please put appropriate words in the Subject title. See our Help link for further info

I know they've been waiting for a couple of truckloads to arrive from mainland Europe, which now sound like they've got there.

As far as I know www.roofbox.co.uk are the UK distributors of Autosock, also running www.autosock.co.uk, I think they supply them on to Brindley Chains.

Hope this info is useful, let's wait and see what trhe weather brings next week.... Met Office Weather Warnings

I ordered some autosocks from roofbox on Fri 8 January (no stock then either). They arrived in a huge delivery truck (which got stuck in the snow!) on Weds 13 Jan. I did pay £5.25 for the "next day" delivery service. Pretty good effort I thought...all things considered.

I ordered a set of Multi-Grip T81's on the 7th too, at 5pm. Arrived on Monday so not too shabby - ebay seller was "carracks". Of course, now the snow's gone, but they fit in the storage compartment in the side of my estate ready for the next time!

Still nothing, my seller is "outdoorleisure".

£65 to fit my car! Think I might order a set - I think its literally getting up the hill out of the estate I need them for, but it stopped me going to work for 3 days!

Snow Sock - No Stock!

NO SHOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course the suppliers of these products had ten times the normal number in stock. They knew we were going to have the worst snow for 30+ years and so had put all their money into winter stock. Just like all their customers, who were also buying these in the summer, in preparation.

Just as well none of the retailers, or punters, waited until the snow was so bad before wanting to get these.

Wake up - no one expected this and so it is no surprise that the stocks ran out quickly. No more amazing than that it wasn't until AFTER it snowed that you all tried to buy them!!

Mine came today. Look good. Now, where's the snow :giggle:

*stand by the stable*

Whats that over there?

*looks at stable door*

Doh!

Mine arrived yesterday.

That should guarantee the end of the cold spell :D

Received mine too.

£50 is a bargain to ensure that it doesn't snow much for the next few winters!

Besides, sold my old snow chains that don't fit this motor on fleabay for £30

so its only £20!

I got a set delivered on Tuesday. Unfortunately they were the wrong size (645). I sent an email to Roofbox, received no reply so called them yesterday morning. They were very apologetic and sent me the correct size (620) out which arrived just before 8am this morning together with a freepost label to send the incorrect ones back.
