Virgin Mobile phones ? any good

Featured Replies

I was looking at the HTC HD2 phone on virgin mobile. But I have no experience of this phone provider. Anyone got any comments about virgin phone network or the HTC HD2 phone.

Vodaphone recently dropped the HD2 prior to the launch of the new Iphone; which i selling very well. I have no real interest in social networking etc , but I want a phone with a big screen to replace my aging PDA and be able to edit and view XL spreadsheets and other MS office files - the HD2 is chaeper with virgin than it was with Vodaphone.

Tmobile network like Asda Mobile. They're simply a virtual carrier.

Several threads on the HD2, and yes its a very nice phone.

Virgin mobile, hang of the T-mobile network, so you will get the same signal strength on that as you do virgin. Voda still do the HD2, but for business users only.

Ah, and Tmobile are rubbish :(

I have no issues. Better signal and monthly package than Orange can offer. Ditched Orange after using them since they started.

I have been with T-mobile for a few years now and they have been my favourite network so far. I find coverage extremely good where I am and they have recently been extending their 3G coverage outside of the city as of late. The only times I don't get coverage is when other people also struggle on other networks but thats usually down to being in some obscure location!

I wouldn't let it put you off. I you want the phone then go for it. I assume they will have decent tarrifs like T-mobile and maybe some good data bundles too.

I was with Virgin for a couple of years, and never noticed any major problems.

My wife was with them for years, and, within the limits of the T-Mobile network, they were great. When I rang them to to transfer her number they were remarkably helpful and efficient -and the call centre I spoke to was in the UK.

I've been looking at exactly the same deal with Virgin too. You can get it for 30 quid a month for 18mths if you pay 20 quid for the Phone. I can get 2 mths free because I'm already a Virgin customer (TV, Phone,Broadband) and 3 mths free insurance. 800mins and unlimited texts. The only thing that's putting me off is that there's a cap of 1GB a month and I don't know if that will be enough or not. If you go over it's 2 quid a meg!

I'd recommend that you buy a SIM FREE mobile & then go onto a Sim Only rolling contract, that way you can swap networks with arrogant ease, you only have to do 30 days with them & then chuck it if it doesn't work out for you.

I'm with Vodafone on a Sim Only plan, £15 pcm, inc internet access & roaming.

I'm on T-moble, have had no problems.

I want the Touch Pro 2 not the HD2 personally.
