My new Roomster!

Featured Replies

Hi all, Thought I'd let everyone know I am now a proud Roomster owner! Just picked it up today in Glasgow. 1.4 TDI 80 PD 3. It's a 2007 but has only covered 15400 miles! Storm Blue metalic. It replaces a Renault Modus 1.5dci which I bought new and covered 33000 miles since 2006. It was great on fuel but, typical french car problems - two sets of tyres in 3 years, wheel bearing at 19000, door hinge broken, clutch pedal noisy, wipers come on when I put the window down! etc etc!

I had a 24 hour test drive of a Roomster in 2007 and loved it - It was so much better quality than the Renault. That's what I noticed today driving back home how solid it feels and how much more comfortable it is! I would have liked the roof rails on it but I notice they are available from Skoda around £120. Anyone know how much it is to get them fitted?

Driving up to Perth tomorrow then west towards Crieff so hope to see some sunshine and fellow briskoda drivers!

welcome to Briskoda. You'll enjoy the Roomster

Welcome to Briskoda. My Roomster replaced a "typical" French car too.

As said, you'll enjoy your Roomster.

Thanks for the welcome! Took the trip today - in the pouring rain / thick fog / glimpse of strange bright planet in the sky! The Roomster was great - it has a lot more power - i suppose my Renault was a 1.5 dci but only 65bhp Roomster is 1.4tdi but 80bhp - seemed to feel quicker anyway! I also noticed it holds the road way better - the Modus used to roll and rattle round bends.

The Roomster alloys are the 16" Atria - they are spotless so the only thing I'm worried about is the Mrs taking it outemoticon-0106-crying.gif ! Not to say they are bad drivers but the plastic wheel trims on the Modus had a tough time over the years - some of it my doing but...

So, I'm really pleased with it love the sound from the stereo and the climatronic is great - I had, previous to the Renault, a Peugeot 406 Executive with climate control which didn't work! I should have learned over the years having 2 Peugeots, a citroen ZX and two renaults I should steer away from French cars!

We had a look at lots of cars recently but it always come back to the Roomster - good choice!

(pics to follow - soon!)

I'm up in Crieff - yeah fog was bad all day! I'll wave if I see you about! :)
