I ordered mine 31st Oct 2009, diesel VRs with quite a few extras/toys, and apparently it left the factory last thursday. Not sure where its us to now, but according to the dealer, Skoda are quoting a delivery date (to the dealer) of 7th Feb 2010.

I ordered on the 5th Jan, scheduled for build week 6 which is Feb 8th-14th, delivery would be mid march so ten long weeks

My car was ordered on 28th Nov

Its now at Grimsby and being delivered on Monday!!

I was told last week that it was being delivered in mid Feb for March 1st hand over.

I now fear that the dealer will try to get me to take delivery before the '10' reg :S

Can they do this?

I was in a similar position in December and they held mine for 2010 registration.

I think if it arrives at the dealer after the middle of the month they will hold it, but certainly for a new reg they would.

Imagine how many cars go out on new reg day, they will have all been sat there for a while. Also you would in effect be getting less than 12 months tax. Speak to them and make it clear you dont want before 1st March, any problems dont supply them with insurance details or sign any forms and they can't register it to you

You wouldnt loose out on the road tax, as with a new car they can tax them for 13mths. As for supplying the insurance docs, they can use the 7 days free insurance (Skoda offer) documents to tax the vehicle.

Having said that, I hope mine doesnt arrive just yet, as Id prefer a 2010 reg, and cant imagine the dealer holding onto the car till then, but I will certainly ask and try my luck! Id even be prepared to pay for it and delay taking ownership of it!

Ordered mine 30th Oct and am told it "should" be here for the begining of feb, have to say my deeler have been pretty poor with contact and letting me know whats going on, i only find anything out if i take the time to call them or pop in.

just out of interest are there any rules on how long i can "stall" for if it turns up at the begining of feb can i stall it til the 1st March or is there some clause in the contract with the deposit? i have a part ex going in when mine turns up on an agreed price and have paid a deposit if that makes any odds??

Not without your details they can't, I would think?

Anyway, as others have said, talk to them and see what they say

I've had an 18 week wait!!!!! Skoda (in my experience) need to improve customer service massively!!!! I understand the wait time, if thats what it is taking! but they need more contact with the customer and more up front truth, dont say "well maybe this, maybe that!" give examples, explain and be Honest, think of repeat sale rather than the "new customers only" like on that bank advert! i will be traveling over 30 miles for servicing now rather than going back to my local dealer!!!

Mine was registered on 13th January and tax runs out 31st December. 11.5 months !

They needed my insurance certificate to register the vehicle.

Pretty similar timing to PowerMalc - I ordered my Vrs on 30 September and I'm due to pick it up next Wednesday (20th), so it will have been 16 weeks and has felt longer. From other responses on the long delivery thread mentioned above, my guess is that a spike of orders occurred in September once people heard about the price increase on 1 October, and this led to long order times, but things seem to be returning to a previous level of about 12 weeks now. I'm pretty sure the wait will be worth it.

I ordered 26th Oct and was told that it would 8weeks so just in time before xmas. As of now it still hasnt arrived!! Spoke to the dealer on Thurs in person (only 'cos my trade in needed a test (at their expense :) )) and apparently its at the docks now, but they still cant give me a firm delivery date as it may be on this weeks sailing or next weeks.

T be prefectly honest, I find it really hard to believe that a major motor manufacturer or at least one part of one of the biggest car groupsin the world can't predict when a car is to be built, transported, shipped, transported and the pdi'd within 3-4days float is quite a surprise.

Please correct me if I'm wrong (any dealers out there) to as what the problem is with keeping the customer up to date.

However, in my experience (i've spent 10+ years in a couple of major blue chip manufacturers) computer systems are incredibly accurate, maybe the car industry (who model themselves on being super efficient (nissan/toyota etc)) needs a lesson in customer service.

Maybe i expect too much and the stark reality is that dealers just want the sale and until they see the car, aren't too bothered, and until it comes back in for service again, who cares?

Certainly not the experience when I bought my fab vrs fromthe same dealer, but hey the salesman left and has changed career since, somewhat disillusioned byall accounts!!

Just my 2p, at least i'll hopefully see car around the end of month, much to my disgust. I wanted it on a 10 plate, but was told i'd have to pay a price increase if i wanted that!!!!

Anyone heard of this increase since oct '09????
