ET45 is definitely the way to go for aftermarket wheels

Following on from the thread raising the suitability of ET35's, these show what ET45 looks like :-

I think that shows ET35 ain't gonna work

Are they 7.5 or 8J?

18 x 8 Nick

Ta - making it similar to running a 7.5J Zenith on a 12mm spacer. I'd agree, you don't want to be further out at the front.

Are those Borbet wheels?

No; Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s. Bought from Halfords would you believe; for just about best price!

Here's a pic of my of my B14s (8J x 18") from a different angle to also illustrate that it is about as wide as you want to go;-

Nice wheels Bryan but I didn't know you'd resprayed your car anthracite now

Nah, you can go more than that. ET35 would fit nice.

No you can't. The rears will foul on the wheel arches when suspension is compressed!

These are 45s , they look wider because of the style i think .

indeed you will, I had wheel arch rubbing on 18x8 ET45 with 235 wide tyres with load in the boot. it bugged me so much, I ditched the tyres and now have 225 wide tyres which only just clear the arches when loaded.

Nice wheels. ET 48 is fine too, with 225/40/18's .

Now when are you going to get those lowering springs on ? ;)

Will these do ?

Yup; that's great except you now need some 'tyre dressing'!!

That was going to be the next step, but I was running out of daylight to get the pictures taken

What happened to the R8 wheels?

What happened to the R8 wheels?

Change of plan - the R8 replicas were an option, but decided on the lightweights in the end

Nice, toyed with the idea of black wheels on my race blue vRS but never got round to it

Done a bit of reverse modding myself, gone from my 18's to 16 x 7J 38ET for my Avon Ice tourings

This is why i've had to go for 38ET, the black lump is the brake caliper behind one of the spokes, now lets play spot the gap

I was a bit worried about them sticking out of the arches when i tried a wheel without a tyre but when I got them on they look fine, and now they've got a bit of grime on them they almost look OEM with the audi badge, though lowered on 16's still looks strange to me

I quite like that , looks like a sleeper or whatever the yanks call em

funny you should say that, its suprised a few chavs off the line. 240bhp and quattro :) bit scary with all that extra sidewall though when it comes to cornering

I presume you're praying for more snow then Dan ? :S

lets just say I nearly came unstuck when I wasn't expecting it

Pfft, get narrower tyres, or roll the arches if it's catching!

Half-arsed modifying
