Turning key to acc position - easy to miss

Featured Replies

When I go to turn on the radio using the key, I often go pass it and the dash/lights come on. I then drop the key back a notch and its fine, it seems to go past the first notch easily. Is this just me or maybe its a VW thing.

Thanks.

The octy does not have an accessory position, the first stop when you turn the key is the one where all the dash lights come on. In the manual you will see it only has 2 positions, which are basically "ON" and "STARTER".

When you turn the engine off, then all the circuits are kept live, right until you take the key from the ignition. The OEM radio works fine without any keys in the ignition, as do all the other circuits except for the heater and climate control, which only run when the engine is running, so there is no need for an "ACC" position.

Ok, but I do seem to have a radio on position cos the radio comes on without the dash and dials moving.

Checked the manual and yer there is only two pos, seems I might be catching it in between positions.
