reversing sensors on a VRS

Featured Replies

HI, im waniting to fit reversing sensors to a vRS, i searched but found it impposible to find a picture with one fitted so is there a lower trim on the bottom of the bumper for the sensors to fit into like BMW's do or is it a case of drilling holes in the bumper? Im sorry if this is a daft question! any pics of Vrs's with them fitted would be good

Thanks

thats for the link, its a good write up! i agree it does look a big job, i think ill wait until the weather better to tackle it!

Did you know you can buy sensor/hole less reversing kits so you don't have to cut holes in the bumper.

I've not tried them personally but thats what I would buy as the normal sensors would ruin the lovely looking VRS rear end :giggle:

I've read about these kits and they seem to get the ok from people that have them:

No Holes Reversing Sensors

@Duck: yeah, I mentioned parking sensors to the chap I bought my Fabia from - he said he'd fitted one that worked with an electro-magnetic strip, and never again - said it was a right pain to position to the correct height, to stop coke cans, etc, from setting it off.

@JayFabia: Just note there are 2 Fabia parking sensor kits, 1 with 3 sensors (like in the FabiaVRS article), and 1 with 4 (fitted 2004 models, and possibly before).

I fitted a similar kit to this (four sensor system) to a Fabia II. The process is almost exactly the same and was not difficult at all. I advise painting of the sensors the day before you do the install. The actual install took me about half a day (fairly leasurely work, with a break for a sandwich and a cup of tea).

I also installed an Ebay kit (Cisbo brand) to my Octavia II. This was equally easy and the Ebay kit works a treat, even worked through the bad weather with ice on the sensors!!

So long as you check and double check before drilling any holes you'll be fine.

My reverse sensors are ******. They are an extra from Skoda. When I put it in reverse, its makes the sound of a flatline. No beeps when I get close to it nothing, so i just switched the thing off.

Now I just have the Mrs shouting if I get close to things. emoticon-0100-smile.gif happy days.

Swear word filter bypassed!

It's probably just one of the sensors that has died. Try disconnecting the wires one at a time to identify the dodgy one. If you leave it disconnected the other sensors shoul still work.(better than none)
