Fabia 1.9 tdi Suspension and discs

Featured Replies

Have had my Fabia for a week now, and I

Hi, I've also had my Fabia a week! and I'm very pleased with it. Mine's a 2.0 petrol and I find the handling quite good, better than I expected it to be !!.

My previous car was a Polo and I had eibach springs on it, the handling was great but the ride was not so good on anything less than well surfaced main roads. This may have been due to it be a small car and riding on 14" wheels.

If you want to improve your handling I would suggest you fit some eibach springs, these seem to be what most Fabia owners prefer.

I would be interested to hear peoples opinions on ride quality of eibachs/standard dampers ?.

Eibach springs and dampers should sort it out nicely ;) I found the biggest problem with the standard set up was the wallowing and oscillating it does as well as the body roll in the corners. The springs and dampers sort this out without compromising the ride comfort at all and I think I'll be sticking them on any new car I buy :D

If you're in Hampshire, give me a shout and I'll take you out in mine :D

Chris

I'm running standard discs and pads on mine and don't see any scoring and don't have any problems with fade or not being able to stop ;)

Thanks guys, last car was an 8 valve gti golf, i thought that was soft compared with the 16 valve, I will give it a while to get used to the Fabia, then see if i need to tighten things up a bit.
