ok my blue vrs le did not come with a cover over the battery like i have seen on other vrs models.

the dealers told me when i picked it up and questioned it that they would order me one in foc.

3 months later and they say that the le did not come with a cover thats why they have had trouble ordering one.

is this true?

the parts dept say they can get me one but i need to know if it came as standard as i cant say something is missing if it was not there to start with.

Yeah, think the covers only came on pre 2005 cars bud.

Can't see any problem in ordering the part though.. should, I think, clip straight on?

I was likewise told that one isn't standard fit nor available for a 2007 vRS.

My 55 VRs came with a cover, never thought anything of it really

no point ordering one, as they don't fit the later fuse cover assembly on the battery

I've looked into this before, Including the parts currently fitted for re-use, You'd require 7 addittional parts to make up 'The battery cover'

06 plate doesn't necessarily mean the car was built in 2006 it could be old stock

Those ebay ones will NOT fit any battery that has any fuses or wiring on the top. They are only good for old cars without battery cases/lids and only the terminals attached to them.

So on later models, the fuses/wiring are exposed on the top? bit strange!

My 53 has one, but a mechanic appears to of broken the main clips on the left side at the last service so its held on by the wires and good will

Got exactly the same problem on the 05 i have just bought. Am going to have a good look at it tomorrow, but seems pointless buying a new cover assembly if i can just fit myself a bit of a DIY catch or strap (fingers crossed)

if memory serves me correctly the VRS LE's that i have gone to see recently dont have them on ( i saw 2 so i cant state for all of them) but it does look like one would fit/one should be there but they didnt want to put one on

And again you'll need most if not all of these parts!

Not worth the effort IMHO!
