Money and time!

Typical that as soon as I do have the space off-road I don't have the time or bleeding money!

Phil

Phil, first of all promise us it won't go to the scrapyard in the sky!

Get it down to Royston is my advice ;)

yeah, don't let me buy it off you or it will be ruined by some idiot putting a stupid powerful engine in there

I have seen 2 Felicias for sale on another forum.

Might serve well as donor vehicles

What happend' to Nelly ?

Did she end her day's in a muddy ditch, rusty and worn out..., cold and alone ?

Or did she find some lasttime glory ?

Still sat on the drive waiting for me to decide what to do with her. Trialling it on the bus for a month then see how we go.

I think the ultimate decision will be to sell her for bits/complete, sell the Peugeot and then get something a bit newer and cheap to run.

Up to now it has been more or less a necessity to have two cars as Sven is working in Hull and Goole but hopes to be working in York soon.

Get rid of Sven? He probably costs more than both cars put together!

HTH?

Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that one too!

Sven's car is also getting to the stage where more and more is going wrong with it. It's a 1998 306 1.9D with 70,000 on. Can get a few more trips to Germany out of it first though... 50mpg at 90mph can't be bad! lol

why not use the scrappage incentive?.....maybe your nelly could be reincarnated into a modern skoda.... :giggle:

We probably wouldn't be going for a brand new car. Probably go for something a couple of years old.

Perhaps a late MK1 07 plate Fabia.

It's got to have a valid MOT, I think.

Ah yes... You are correct!

Phil

That's one of the annoying things about the scrappage scheme. What's the point in scrapping a roadworthy car, or if it's not roadworthy repairing it to be scrapped. (Still I'm one to talk seeing as that's where mine's going :S )

:| I could go into a proper rant about the scrappge scheme so I'll not get myself all wound up and keep as quiet as I can about it! ;)

i wondered how long it would be before somebody suggested that dave scraps that old tub with no doors in the pic he posted :giggle:

i'm going to run and hide now :wonder:

:giggle: Oi, that's pride of the fleet!

A 1998 306D with only 70_000 on it; it's hardly more than run in!!

Yeh guess you're right.

It's not been too bad tbh. Just the usual things like tyres and brakes etc. Then recently the alternator packed in and replacing the aux belt tensioner next weekend.

It went more than twice over it's last service too... Guess the little flashing spanner on the dash meant nothing to Sven!

Were talking again last night and think Nelly is going in some way, shape or form and then run the Peugeot into the ground.

Phil

Having just spent a package giving Fellie a new clutch and enjoying the feeling of driving a Felicia in good shape, my advice is: keep her! Or you will regret it... you know I'm right! :D

I know you are right swedish! That's the sad/annoying part!

I have just SORN'd her and sending the application for a tax disc refund...

The bus is actually working out pretty well... but no where near as fun as Nelly! :'(

Oh dear. Sympathies.

I was gutted when I had head gasket failure on mine.

So I'm fighting to keep my Favorit as it still runs really well it would be a travesty to scrap her.

You fitted cruise to Nelly?

So...

I'm not bothering to fix Nelly up. I simply just don't have the time/money etc.

I am getting insured on the pug 306 and will be using that on occasion and carrying on getting the bus to/from work.

The plan is the replace the Peugeot at some point in the near-ish future and then I will get full use of the Peugeot (oh god... good job I have breakdown cover ;)

I will be getting Freedom membership soon... so look out in the for sale section....

Phil

You fitted cruise to Nelly?

Of sorts... it is basically just a throttle lock kind of affair...

In the end I sold mine too :(

I sold her to a landscape gardener who wanted a project to keep him busy. so who knows, she might be on the road again with working 6x9s too!!!
