Load Area

Featured Replies

I was loading the car for a tip run yesterday with the back seats down. There was a loud bang and movement as I put my knee down in the centre of the car where the cushion of the middle rear seat would normally be.

I lifted the carpet and saw there is a large plastic grommet that had pushed in under the weight of my knee. This grommet is above the fuel tank and has the wiring for the fuel tank passing through it, so disturbing it is not a good idea. I managed to pull the grommet back out, but it's been permanently distorted and weakened. Not a brilliant design.

Other Roomie drivers please take note - no point loads on the floor in this location, please !

A good shout.

90% of cars have a 6" or so round plastic plate somewhere in this area - although normally its not hidden under carpet. :)
