Second-hand Eibachs for TFSI

Featured Replies

Is it worth buying second hand Eibachs?

They are £75, and have seen 20k road use.

Very tempted - I'm getting a set anyway, and could do with saving the cash, but wondering if anyone thought buying springs that had seen 20k use was a bit of a risk?

yes 100%, they will make your car feel so much better. my favourite mod of everything ive done so far. The ARBs will be fine. Id probably say just get some new ARB bushes as they will be the parts that wear down in time no the bar

Yeh I know how good Eibachs are, had them on my last car, a Focus - transformed the handling. :D

I bought those brand new though, and I was wondering about whether it's a good idea getting a 2nd hand set...

I'm guessing my local VW TPS counter will sell the ARB bushes?

A mate of mine who will be fitting them has asked me if I'll need new rear arms or camber bolts - I'm presuming not though, as I don't remember needing them for my Focus?

same material mate, make sure you buy the correct size bushes though, as the eibach ARBs are bigger than oem. a call to JKM or awesome might be able to sort you out exact sizes you need.

Sorry, think we're both confused - I'm not replacing the ARB's, just getting the basic Eibach springs...

haha

my mistake. was thinking it was a bargain for eibach ARBs with 20k for £75. in that case im not to sure then

Not to sure it's worth it?

Everywhere online they are £140 new, so it's a decent saving... I'm just wondering if fitting second hand springs are a good idea?!

I'd personally save up the difference and buy new - springs aren't the sort of thing I'd like to buy used.

That is my own preference - it doen't mean to say the used ones are no good.

new set approx £125 now with 20K it wouldnt put me off in the slightest but other things that worry me about cars like clutches id quite happily £50 to put my mind at ease knowing it was brand new and I knew what had happened to it. Is that extra piece of mind worth £50 to you?
