paper work on a second hand car

Featured Replies

just after Xmas I bought a nearly new Octavia, it was an ex-demo bought by the dealer from new with 3,000 miles in 2 1/2 months.

I filled out all of the paperwork, including the v5, and I added a Service Maintenance and Tyre plan for which I also completed the paperwork.

Now 4 weeks later I've received nothing...prior to that I purchase a VW Golf with similar arrangements and had warranty transfer documents, welcome packs, Service Maintenance and Tyre Plan welcome pack, roadside assist etc etc...

I know there might be a delay in the DVLA with Xmas etc but would have expected to have received some other letters etc by now....the dealer did make a mistake on the SMT plan, putting the mileage down as 0 rather than 3k so that has to be corrected too and they've never got back to me about repairing a very small ding in the roof either, so the car is great, but the service leaves something to be desired....!

What experience has anyone else had and what paperwork should I receive....?

Give the DVLA a ring and see if they've received the V5 paperwork. If they've got nothing then it's the dealer you need to speak to.
