DPF Removal

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if someone has successfully removed the DPF from the car and what was the outcome, to me it sounds like all that's required is the removal of the box and a straight piece put in, and something done to the sensor so that it does not show a problem on the dash

From "the car"? Which car?

If you have an Octavia then yes, infact Blueflame do a DPF replament pipe.

The ECU will need the sensor mapped though, worthwhile approaching a forum sponsor like P-Torque, and you will get a nice power increase too. About £750 all in IIRC.

I was looking into removing the DPF as well but how does it effect the emmisions and would the car fail MOT tests if you don't put the DPF back on again.

No it won't fail and MOT. Diesels are done on a smoke level test only. :) And yes emissions will go up slightly.

Thanks Tom That's what I thought but was not sure

Is there a (not too techy) way to physically check if you have a DPF? My Audi dealer says his system doesn't show one on my A4 PD170, and I have some VW506.00 oil I could use up instead of their 507.00. In 3 yrs I've never had any DPF warning light, but obviously wouldn't if the car doesn't have one.

Otherwise, could this oil be used on a FL Octy2 PD140 with the DPF removed?
