Featured Replies

Not posted anything for a while as I am sure the weather has been effecting us all but here is an interesting motor that I detailed just before Xmas:

Glad it's a little warmer now...........

Just had a good read through of your thread. I have so much respect for what you do to these motors Simon. Your level of detailing is immense and you always leave them looking like showroom condition.

Anytime you are near West Yorkshire give me a shout as there is a Shifty Fabia in need of some TLC.

I'll second that, just get the impression you enjoy what you do, with pride.

If you're ever in Cornwall.......

Another fantastic job, stick kent on the road trip list!

Must admit the write ups you do and some of the others on here, and detailing world inspired me to change the way i clean the car, have always thought i was doing it right with my hosepipe, (one) buket and some polish now i know better and the results show.

Did my first what i would call proper detail yesterday, hard work compared to my normal wash/ squirt with the hose/ bit of polish / hoover. have thought before of paying someone to do it as i didnt know how but from the pictures and stuff posted i have learnt how and it is very satisfying.

One thing being new to this why does everyone say about doing the wheels first?in my simple little mind do the wheels first then all the poop you wash off the car goes onto them?? or is it more to do with making sure that none of the wheel cleaner gets on the paint???

I can only summise that you get what is admittedly the grottiest stuff done first, as to do the wheels as documented around requires removing them which can be time consuming?

Thanks for the comment and I am glad that my write-ups have a use for people on here..........

In my opinion it's best to tackle the wheels first as you want to get all the muck out of the arches, etc and then onto the paintwork, any dirt that comes off the paintwork and onto the wheels will just blast off if you have sealed the wheels so it's not a problem, I would guess that around 90% of people do the wheels first.........

Wheels are the dirtiest in most cases entirely depending on the owner but taking the time to remove them is well worth it and a lot easiser to clean them IMHO..........

did i see you in banbury on sat?

Best add Tenby to the list then. Make it the summer, bring your surf board 'n flip flops and I'll throw in board and lodgings for two
